Allow Me to Introduce Myself !

Greetings! Thank you so much for stopping by. My name is Patricia, but you can call me Trish. I’m a midwestern girl with a southern soul. I’m a woman of God with the determination of a winner. That winning attitude is due, in part, to the fact that I share my living quarters with two of the winningest teams around…the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Bucks. That’s right! I was born and raised in the four-season state of Wisconsin. After working in corporate America since I was a teenager (a few years ago ), an unfortunate illness changed my book of life and had me scrambling to rewrite some chapters.  In March of 2012, I was diagnosed with a very rare cancer called Pheochromocytoma. A Big Shocking Surprise to me, my family and my friends. This devastating news came at a time when I had proudly given over 25 years to my job at the United Parcel Service; a milestone that had earned me 6 weeks of vacation. Unbeknownst to me, God had already set me up for the first blessing that would come from this illness. He, along with my servitude to this company had granted me a precious commodity…TIME. I was so happy to be at a point in my lengthy career, where I could take off and do what I loved. Travel. My goal was to balance the good with the bad…see some sights while I fight the fight. And oh what a fight it turned out to be. You know that phrase, “what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger”? Well I lived it! This unfortunate diagnosis got more devastating for me when I received a Letter of Termination in the mail, while home on disability fighting that fight. Now it was really time to step out on faith and put my Faith Over Fear into Action (remember that motto…you’ll hear me say it a lot).

THE NEXT CHAPTER

So here we are. Fast forward past disability battles, doctor visits, benefit fights, doctor visits, life planning meetings, doctor visits, financial assessments, doctor visits, clinical trials and doctor visits… to bring me to where I am today. Again, I am Trish. I am the Proud mother of two sons, one grandson and a small gang of godchildren. The loves of my life. Thanks to my oldest son, I was introduced to the social media world.  He set me up with Facebook, Instagram and my own personal Website to help with sharing my journeys, both physical and mental.  For me, sharing with you is another means of therapy. (I wish travel therapy was covered by my insurance…I’ll have to pray on that ) Traveling has become just another medicine in the long list of pills that I endure. I believe I could be in a different city or state every weekend and it would not bother me. There is so much to see and experience in this great big world and I want to make memories Everywhere. I love sharing my adventures, from traveling to different cities, states and countries to eating at various restaurants. I am finally ready to birth this Blogging Baby that I have been carrying inside me for way too long. I decided I could not let cancer stop or hold me back from my Vision. I may have cancer (diagnosis), but cancer don’t have me. So I plan on Living til I die!

My Greatest Asset is My Testimony!

I will be sharing my experiences at different travel destinations (Hotels, Resorts, Cruises), helpful travel tips, and some tasty treats (Restaurants or Recipes). Trish Travels and Tasty Treats is combining my two loves, travel and eats. It’s my hope that what you will find here will encourage and motivate you to pack a suitcase or backpack and get up and go! It can be as close as a Staycation or as far on land or sea for a Vacation. It can be with Family, Friends or just your best companion… YOU. I am a great Solo Traveler. So get your License updated, a Passport, some good luggage and Bon voyage!! ️

Always remember: A change of latitude would help with your attitude.
